The University of Houston and the University of Houston Alumni Association have recognized Frontier Utilities as one of the outstanding companies to the newly established community of business excellence, the Cougar 100! Frontier's CEO, Jay Hellums, graduated the university with a B.B.A. of finance in 1984. 

Since its founding in 1927, the University of Houston has grown dramatically. Cougar 100 is a bold annual tradition that identifies, recognizes and celebrates the world's fastest growing UH Cougar-owned and Cougar-led businesses. The listing not only celebrates Frontier's success, but also gives Cougars a point of pride and achievement to share with the entire community.

Frontier is proud to receive this recognition for the third year in a row, jumping from #31 in 2014 to #7 in 2015, to #12 in 2016!
