Texas Storm Update

Severe winter weather is expected across Texas through Saturday, February 5, 2022. The National Weather Service said wind chills are expected Thursday and Friday mornings, with the possibility of temperatures dropping to the single digits in some areas.

It’s important to use caution during cold weather, as roads, bridges and sidewalks can ice over. Ice may also accumulate on power lines and tree branches, which could lead to power outages.

Please see important information below regarding power outages and energy conservation tips.

Report a Power Outage

In the event of a power outage or electrical emergency please contact your local utility company. Local utility contact information can be found  here.

Recovering from a Power Outage
  • For assistance with food or shelter, call 311 (Houston residents) or 211 (rest of Texas).
  • Immediately report downed power lines and broken gas lines or water lines to your local utility provider. Click here for a list of local electric utility provider contact information.
  • Never taste food to determine its safety. When in doubt, throw it out. Use these food safety charts as a guide for discarding perishable items.
  • Follow these safety practices when using a generator. The most common hazards to avoid are carbon monoxide (CO), electric shock or electrocution, and fire.
  • Visit the FEMA website to see if you qualify for disaster assistance.
  • Visit disaster.gov for additional disaster recovery information.
Tips to Reduce Your Energy Use

Follow these easy tips to reduce your energy consumption:

  • In the winter, heat your home at 68 degrees or cooler. To save even more, lower your thermostat to 65 degrees or cooler at night or when you're away.
  • Lower the temperature on your water heater from 140 degrees to 120 degrees. This is the recommended temperature setting, according to the U.S. Department of Energy.
  • Adjust the water level on your washing machine to match the load size, especially when using hot water. To save energy, always use a cold rinse.
  • Clean or replace air filters regularly.

Houston Dynamo And Frontier Team Up For Kicks 4 Kids

The Kicks for Kids program offers businesses the opportunity to bring underprivileged children out to a Houston Dynamo or Houston Dash game. Through the program, corporations have the ability to purchase tickets to upcoming Dynamo or Dash home matches, which Dynamo Charities then distributes to local children's charities. These valuable donations allow children, who would not otherwise be able to, the opportunity to enjoy a positive morale building experience at BBVA Compass Stadium.

Frontier is proud to be apart of such a wonderful program that allows deserving children within the community to experience the magic of a Houston Dynamo game.
